Pavement Ants are very common in Northeast Ohio. They are on the small side; measuring at approximately 2 to 3 mm. They can range from light brown to black in color. They are also definable by the grooves on their head and thorax.
Pavement Ants are found under sidewalks, driveways and rocks, in pavement cracks, and near the foundation. They sometimes will nest inside in walls and under floors. They can enter buildings through tiny cracks to seek out food and moisture.
